When planning a development of any kind, wheather it be a small extension to large development trees should be considered before committing the proposal to final architect plans. The main reason is that alot of money could be wasted on architect fees if important tree constraints were not taken into account.

So the first task to be undertaken for any proposed development if there are trees on or adjacent to the site is to have a tree survey carried out in line with BS5837 (2012). Following the survey a tree report will be produced with a tree constraints plan (TCP. This plan will enable the designer to produce a layout that will be accepable by the local authority from an arboricultural point of view.
